Appointments, Highworth

Telephone 01793 762218 between the hours of 8.00am – 6.30pm, Monday to Friday or call in at the surgery. Please make it clear if your problem needs urgent attention, we request that making routine enquiries and non-urgent appointments is left till after 11.30am.

In line with the Government’s wish for extended GP surgery hours, this surgery offers late evening additional sessions and one early morning session for pre-booked routine appointments only (Tuesday AM/PM, some Wednesday PM and Thursday PM).  To book or cancel these appointments, you must telephone the surgery between Monday – Friday, 0830-1830hrs.

Please note that all of our routine GP appointments are 15 minutes, the Doctors will only be able to see a maximum of two health problems per appointment in this time.

Depending on availability, you may be offered an appointment at a nearby site so that you can be seen sooner. If you are unable to travel to another site, please let the reception team know.

Remember you can book appointments online by registering for SystmOnline (contact reception for more details), click HERE to log in. We try to make sure you see the doctor of your choice but if they are not available we may ask you to see another doctor.

If you are too ill to come to the surgery and you require a visit at home, please call the surgery before 10am. Home visits take up much more of a Clinician’s time than a consultation in the surgery, so if you are mobile please come into the surgery to be seen. You may be telephoned back by a Clinician before a visit is made to ascertain that the visit is necessary – home visits are always done at the clinical discretion of the Clinician.

Emergencies

Important – For Emergencies you should attend the Accident & Emergency Department of your local hospital or dial 999: an emergency is a critical or life-threatening situation, and includes things like: chest pain or suspected heart attack, head injury, severe loss of blood, severe breathing difficulties, loss of consciousness, deep wounds, suspected broken bones.

Chaperones

If you would like a chaperone present during your consultation, then please advise the Receptionist when booking an appointment or when checking in.

Translation Services

Please note all our Doctors speak English. Telephone translators can be arranged via ‘Language Line’ or ‘Alpha Plus’ for most languages. Please inform the Receptionist if you would like to use either of these services and ask for a double appointment.
