Request an appointment

Send an appointment request through SystmConnect. Tell us what you need help with so our team can assess your request and arrange the most appropriate care. This may be with a GP, nurse or another healthcare professional, by telephone or face to face.

If you cannot use SystmConnect, you can phone your surgery or speak to a receptionist while it is open.

If you need help today

If you think you need an urgent appointment today, phone your surgery during opening hours and tell us your request is urgent. We will assess what help you need.

Change or cancel an appointment

To cancel an appointment, you can:

• send a cancellation request through SystmConnect. Select Admin request, then Other admin request
• reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text, if you received one.

If your appointment is today or tomorrow, please phone the surgery so we receive your cancellation promptly. To rearrange an appointment, please phone your surgery.

Saturday appointments

Routine Saturday clinics are available by appointment at Taw Hill Surgery and Swindon Health Centre (Carfax), usually between 9am and 1pm. Appointments may include GP and advanced nurse practitioner consultations, long-term condition reviews, screening and other planned care.

To ask whether a Saturday appointment is suitable and available, contact your usual surgery during weekday opening hours. These clinics are not a walk-in or emergency service.

Tell us what you need

Whether you use SystmConnect or contact us another way, please tell us if you:

• would prefer a particular clinician or type of appointment
• need an interpreter, chaperone or other support
• have any communication or access needs.

We will take your preferences into account when arranging your care.

Home visits

If you are housebound or too unwell to attend the surgery, please phone your surgery as early as possible, ideally before 10.30am for a same-day request. A clinician will assess your needs and decide whether a home visit or another form of care is most appropriate. Read more about home visits.

When we are closed

If you need medical help that cannot wait until we reopen, use NHS 111 online or call 111. For a child under 5, call 111 rather than using 111 online.

Call 999 in a life-threatening emergency.
